Sunday Night With Wine

Glass of wineWell, it’s Sunday night. I decided tonight I would just go ahead and have a nice glass of wine and relax as the week ends.  I have decided that there are a few things I need to change. One of those things is getting into some more healthy routine’s. Seems that if I just get myself to do the things that are more healthy such as eating better and regular exercise, that I won’t have to worry about doing things randomly to try to make it work.

So as I sit here this evening sipping on a bottle of decent wine I am making plans to make sure that I can just do things that make me a better human inside and out.

Getting My Step Count Up

It’s only been a few days, but I am getting my step count up higher and higher with each passing day.  Of course this doesn’t mean it is easy.  It is weird how hard it is to walk around these days.  With all of the distractions and activities that have you sitting on your rear, a person could say without getting laughed at that they don’t have time to take a walk.

But, it is laughable, if you think about it.  Walking around should be mandatory.  A failure to walk leaves all human beings weak and unhealthy.  However, being healthy is free.  After all it is free to walk around and there isn’t much money to be maid, so no one is going to be on you to walk around and get those muscles working, unless it is someone who cares about your health.[embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6PaXWcRc-o[/embedyt]

And, there is no one better than can care about your health than you.  You can feel it, after all.  I have uploaded a video about my step count and taking a good walk.  It appears that I am already feeling the impact of taking a lot time to walk.  Step by step is the only way to do it.

I have an old Vivofit and it is doing the job, but I am in the market for something new that does a little more than just tracking steps.  Soon, I will give the low down on what I see out there.

Come back soon!

Exercise with a New Walking Routine

Stepping Out

My basic routine excludes exercise.  I am putting my lazy ways to the test and changing up the way my brain works when it comes to my health.  When I was younger, I used to run everyday.  Now, I am lucky if I walk a few times a week.

I decided to start a new exercise routine.  I am going to walk each day.  That’s right!

Exercise Video

So, here is my video of my first walk.  Man I’m heavy.  I need to get moving and it absolutely shows.  Walking can help, but soon, in a few months, my exercise routine will include a little jogging.  Maybe in a few more months some short runs.  I’m not looking forward to this, but it has to be done.  I have spent too many years with too little exercise.  I tried weights last year at the YMCA and it helped me gain some weight.

There were times I used to run a mile in nine minutes every day.  I thought it was pretty good.  I was at the point where if I missed a day, I would feel bad and have to make it up on the next day.  Now, I find it easier to just sit around than to get out and enjoy the outdoors.  Part of the goal will be to get in shape.  I’m not just trying to lose a few pounds, I need to lose a lot of weight.  I plan on getting into good shape and I’m not unrealistic.  It will take a few months to make a little progress and over a year to obtain my goal.

Hopefully, I can make it for about 20 minutes my first walk.  Walking isn’t very strenuous and I think I should be able to make it work.  Thanks for stopping by and please like and subscribe to my Channel.

Tired of Eating Out

Stay in or Eating Out

Stuck in a world of convenience?  What is convenient about food that someone else makes?  When eating out the food is always filled with fat and salt.  It is always washed by chemicals and prepared in bulk.  It costs a lot and takes longer to get than it would be to just make it ourselves.  But, staying in and making our own meals is too much work and all you have to do is look at all of the billions of dollars spent by people selling food to remind you of this one hundred or more times a day.

So, what do we do?  We eat it anyways.  We eat junk whether it is served through a drive thru window, brought home and eaten on the couch or when we sit down in the restaurant and pay another 20% to have someone bring it to us.  It is a  complete waste of time, money and energy.

At this point, I am working on how to stop the craziness of eating out.  I probably eat more fat and salt than appears possible, and I will never know.  Do you know what these restaurants are actually putting in the food?  How much butter and salt substitutes?  I can’t be the only one who thinks that there is a problem.

I want to eat well and enjoy the food I eat.  I am all for a little convenience, but restaurants are anything but when it comes to our overall health and well being.  Do you really think the places you eat at are worried that you might be eating too much sugar, fat, salt and empty calories?  Of course they don’t think about you.

From this day forward, I am going to change it up a little.  I am going to move in the right direction and stop eating anywhere but at home.  I am going to start treating myself to good food at a good price.

Could it be true that buying all of the ingredients cost more when we go to the store than it would if we just buy it from the restaurant?  Is it true that we just waste more food trying to cook at home?  I will keep you ‘posted’.
